Please pinch me! I am over the top excited with this photograph. Please tell me that I photographed a Peregrine Falcon. I really think that's what this bird is. I've never seen one in the wild before, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw this one today.........and I was able to rifle off a few shots as well. Now, if you tell me this isn't a Peregrine Falcon, I will be disappointed for sure. So please don't disappoint me. :-)
This was taken up in Newport VT this morning. Mr. S and I did a lot of driving around today.........we hit rain, then drizzle, then just clouds, then a bit of brighteneing, then rain, then drizzle and on and on. And on. But, besides this fantastic bird of prey, I also found a new spot that I want to return to photograph in the Fall. It's not a popular spot, and I found it by chance on the web last week so I went to check it out today. It's called McAllister Pond, and it's located in Hazen's Notch. My photos from today are just ho hum because of the low clouds hanging over the distant mountains. But in the Fall, this spot has the promise for some wonderful reflection shots:
Can you see the reflection of the rounded mountain in the water in the forefront? Picture this. That mountain ablaze in Autumns colors reflecting in the water. I can see it in my mind. Pretty huh?
So, all in all, a very good day, despite the weather. :-)
Here's one more photograph. This one was taken yesterday, but I processed the heck out of it and I like it. (These are the things we photographers do on rainy days. If we can't take a picture, we play with the ones we already have taken.) Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Anyways, here's my "artistic" shot which I titled "Heading Home". I hope you like it, and if you don't like it, I hope you can at least appreciate my efforts. :-)
God love all of the farmers. What a hard way of living. They are some of the hardest working people in our country. Seven days a week.......... from before sun up to sundown in all kinds of weather. I hope my photograph pays homage to their hard work.
Nice job mom! That definitely looks like the ones I saw when I looked it up!
