Model T Christmas Photos

I hope you all are enjoying your holidays. It's been wonderful here with our family and friends. Back in November, I took Christmas photos for Miss J for her family's Christmas cards. I don't know why I've never shown photos of Mr S's antique cars. His Dad gave him a 1914 Model T for Christmas about five years ago. Last year when his Dad passed away, he inherited two more beautiful antique cars.

I decided to use the Model T for this year's Christmas photos. I bought a large wreath and a red and black plaid bow for it. I also bought some red and black gift boxes to use as props. Mr. S parked the car in our backyard in front of the rustic looking shed. The kids came perfectly dressed and I'm in love with the photos I got. I hope you like them too.

It's so frustrating......I haven't been able to comment for several weeks.........but I want you to know how much I appreciate the comments and please keep them coming. I hope to get this problem resolved soon. Thank you!

Snow Photos Hanson MA

We got a few inches of snow one day last week so I ran out with my camera just as the storm was ending and the sky was clearing. I just love a blue sky and puffy white clouds immediately after a snowstorm.

Scituate Light Sunrise and Norris Reservation Norwell MA

Back in October I led some members of my camera club on a trip to photograph the sunrise at Scituate Lighthouse in Scituate MA. It was a gorgeous Fall morning. I went up on the jetty to compose my shots.

Sunrise:

From here we went to part two of the photo trip, which was a walk through Norris Reservation in nearby Norwell MA. As you can see, the foliage was beautiful that morning.

We walked the trail that leads to the old boat house along the North River:

These were taken on October 20th. I miss the Fall colors. As I'm typing this, there's some light snow falling outside. Winter came early this year in New England.

Porcupine Falls Gilsum NH

On October 18th I took a day trip with a photographer friend to Southwest NH and SE VT. My favorite spot that we photographed that day was Porcupine Falls located in Gilsum NH. It was an easy 10-15 minute hike in the woods to get to the falls. There was a rainstorm the day before and I knew the falls would be running strong.

I loved this series of falls and hope you enjoyed seeing the photos. I'm sorry for not posting as frequently as usual. Life has been busy, but busy in a good way. This Fall season has flown by so quickly. The older I get it seems like time goes by way too fast. I'm not liking that. Wish there was a way to slow down time!

Blueberry Lake Waitsfield VT

I stayed in Waitsfield VT for a few nights this Fall. Blueberry Lake was located not far from where I was staying, so I made several trips to photograph at this location.

The first visit was a mid afternoon visit on an overcast day. I was happily surprised to see the still water and beautiful reflections as we approached the lake. But, unfortunately the wind kicked up and the reflections quickly disappeared. I was able to get one shot off before the reflections were gone.

Two days later, we went back to Blueberry Lake for sunrise. The lake was socked in with fog. I took a few photos as the fog was lifting....

There was frost on all of the grass and bushes:

That evening, we once again returned to the lake for sunset light....

It's a lovely lake and location!

Jobs Pond and Bald Hill Pond VT

On my first day of my recent Vermont trip, I visited Jobs Pond in Westmore and Bald Hill Pond in Newark.
I believe I've photographed Jobs Pond in the Fall for the past 15 years. This year I decided to try something now.....so I put a 10 stop Neutral Density filter on my lens and took a 30 second exposure. This is the result:

Here is Bald Hill Pond in Newark. These were taken with the Tokina 11-16 mm wide angle lens.

These were taken on September 30th. The foliage wasn't peak yet, but there was still some decent color.

Bragg Hill/Mount Ellen Waitsfield VT

I'm baaaack after a week in Vermont. I apologize for not writing any blog posts but I was on the go the entire time. I'll share with you one of my favorite photos I have taken so far this Fall. This was taken on Sunday morning, October 6. As the sun rose behind me, it lit up the clouds over Mount Ellen for a brief couple of minutes. I had a ten stop neutral density filter on my lens to help me create a long exposure to see the movement of the clouds. You will notice that the leaves on the forefront trees are showing motion blur from the wind. This is a 30 second exposure. Click on photo for a larger view.

The light was fleeting. I got three 30 second exposures done before the pink light was gone. It was magical while it lasted. These are the moments that I love what I do.

Fort Revere Hull MA

"The Forts" in Hull Ma are located on Telegraph Hill at Fort Revere Park. One is from the American Revolution, and one that served from 1898-1947. I went here a few weeks ago on Friday the 13th, which was also the night of the full moon,

A long exposure shot........Is that a ghost traveling through the scene?
