Beautiful Spring Day

Day 44/Year 2
Today was a a fun day that I spent with my sister Nancy.
This was my first sygnet sighting of the season. We went to the Jenny Grist Mill in Plymouth , on a tip that there was a nesting swan there. When I arrived, I was so surprised to see that the sygnets were already born. How cute are they?
Here's the proud Papa........
It was such a beautiful day and the wildlife was a-plenty. Here's a few shots of a duck in flight...

Finally, a goose feeding near a fully blossomed Cherry Tree......

What a perfect Spring day. It was one of those days that just makes you smile!

Loving This Photography Thing!

Day 43/Year 2
THIS is why I love what I do! THIS is why I am continuing to take a photo a day for the second year. The skies were pretty changeable this afternoon. I had taken a photo earlier today that I was planning on putting up for today's photo. But early evening.........the skies were sunny, then dark clouds, then sun again in a matter of minutes. I decided to head out to the duck pond in Rockland, thinking maybe I would get lucky and catch a dramatic sky while I was there. I arrived to ho-hum skies, so I decided to concentrate on the ducks and geese. Here I am shooting the wildlife, not even paying attention to the sky anymore, when I suddenly looked up and saw this! Jackpot!!
I wanted to add some forefront interest, and was able to get this:
And as the skies darkened, I was able to catch this before last light:

Yup, I love being able to capture moments like this. :-)

Rowan

Day 42/Year 2
Do you remember Rowan? She is my great niece.......the daughter of my nephew Greg and his wife Jess. She's 5 months old now and I was lucky enough to have her come to visit on Sunday. Isn't she beautiful?
This, I love! Look at her expression as she is looking at Rudy. Too precious beyond words........

Feeding time, and getting sleepy..........how precious.............

Beautiful Morning: The Finale

Day 41/Year 2
Here's the cuteness as promised! She is very pregnant and when she poked her head out of the barn to see who was out there, the three of us were like the Paparazzi just rifling off shots of her. She was a very obliging model! :-)
This mini horse also endured the Paparazzi. We didn't seem to faze him, nor did we interrupt his snack:

Now...........here's the ugliness that is so ugly, it's cute:
Awwwwwww.........how cute is he, huh???????? :-) I've never seen such a fat Pot-Bellied Pig before.
Here's a shed on the farm that is behind the house:

And finally, here's a tree that was in the process of blooming for the season. It's remarkable how the colors of Spring mimic the colors of Fall:

I hope you enjoyed this series of photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them. Once again, a final great big thank you to Greg for sharing his time and his knowledge of wildlife and photography with us. I am truly blessed!

Beautiful Morning part 2

Day 40/Year 2
Here are a few more photos from yesterday's trip to Middleboro. The above window scene was taken at a farm on Thompson St. in Middleboro.
The next photograph shows the precarious position that photographers often find themselves in.......whatever it takes to get the best shot. This is Greg getting himself the perfect shot:
Here's my take on that scene:

These next 2 photos are my favorite shots from the day. The first one is a tighter composition. I like the reflections in the little pond:

This one might be my very favorite. I really like all of the lines of the fence and the leading line of the fence in the forefront.

Tomorrow will be the final posting from this outing. I'll give you a hint. There will be cuteness involved.......including some ugliness that is so ugly that it's cute. Stay tuned! :-)

Oh what a beautiful morning!!

Day 39/Year 2
Fog. We were in the thick of it! And I loved every minute of it. Today was a fun day. My friend Diane and I were led by Greg Lessard ( http://greglessardphotography.com/-/greglessardphotography/ ) on a fantastic photography tour in Middleboro and Halifax MA. I left my house at 5:30am to meet Greg in Middleboro at 6am. Our initial goal for today's outing was to search out coyotes feeding in the fileds at dawn. There was so much fog this morning, you couldn't see very far into the fields. With wildlife and nature, there are no guarantees. We found other things to photograph. Lots of other things. :-)
The fog and light was changing quickly. The conditions helped us to get some nice shots.

I can't thank you enough Greg for your hospitality, and your knowledge that you so generously shared with us. I had so much fun trudging through those beautiful muddy open fields!!! I am going to post more photos on tomorrow's blog........after the fog cleared it was a spectacular blue sky morning and I have several other photos I'd like to post........minus the mud and fog! :-)

A tribute to a friend

Day 38/Year 2
We attended a fundraiser/tribute tonight for our friend who passed away in October from colon cancer.
I blogged about him here:
Michael was a hockey player........these t shirts were on sale at the party tonight......really cool.........

There were many raffle prizes which were given out as well.............

I was a loser. Ginny on the other hand............she was a "winner"!!!!!!!! Yessiree......Ginny was a "very big winner"!!!!!!! ;-)
I donated one of my framed photographs to be raffled off.......Ginny wasn't lucky enough to win THAT though. :-)
Good night......It's been a long night...........:-)
