I'm so glad that I live in a world where there are Octobers."

Happy Fall to all of you. It's difficult for me to pick a favorite Fall photo that I have taken. There are probably over 1,000 of them. It's like asking to pick a favorite child. It's just impossible to do.
This photo that I chose to post today, on the Autumnal Equinox, was taken in 2016. I have only witnessed such vibrant reds on one or two other years. I was brought to tears by the beauty of the colors on this particular day, and no, I'm not the least bit ashamed to admit that fact.
I've had a lot of adversity that I've faced this past year. Some I've shared on the blog, others I haven't.
I'm fully vaccinated for Covid 19. Despite that, I have had a breakthrough case and have gotten very sick. I have not had to be hospitalized......only because I am fully vaccinated. It would be a totally different story if I were not and I thank God every day for leading our brilliant Scientists to help us fight this deadly virus.
I'm not fully recovered but I feel so much better. A follow up chest x ray has revealed I now have Walking Pneumonia. I'll take it. I'm taking my meds. I will recover. I will not let it stop me from going to Vermont. It's "walking" pneumonia. I will not run, I will not hike, I will not exert myself, but I am damn well going to photograph the beauty of Fall in Vermont. Oh, and I still have more time to recover before I go :-)
Welll we all know that you really do have a favorite child
ReplyDeleteOh Ms J. Thank you for the needed laugh. I love you more than anything in this world. I just happen to love your two brothers just as much!!! :-)
DeleteDear Carol, ~ You have such a positive attitude after being 'knocked' down twice. Your spirit and love of the beautiful will see you stronger than ever. Looking forward to more VT photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Cynthia. It's sure been one heck of a year! But I'm truly blessed.
DeleteI'm keeping my fingers crossed that your recovery is swift and complete--in time to catch the peak of fall color in Vermont. You've been through an awful lot over the past year; I figure you have a couple of million breaks coming your way.
ReplyDeleteBTW, 2016, the year of the image you posted...that was the same fall that I had the tremendous privilege of meeting you in person. Perhaps that image was made on the day that you showed me around your (northern) neck of the woods in person...
Kerry, I just typed a reply to you but didn't hit reply on your comment so my reply got put on a separate post. Just didn't want you to miss my reply. Thanks!
DeleteHappy fall to you. Hope we get beautiful foliage this year. Happy shooting!
ReplyDeleteHappy Fall to you too Ed. Thank you!
DeleteThank you Kerry. You couldn't have picked a better year to come photograph Fall in NE that year. This photo was taken the day before I met you. I was by myself on the way to my house and decided I needed to get on some back roads and start shooting. This image was the very first one I shot in 2016. I'll never forget pulling over on the side of a dirt road literally in awe of the color before me. I also so enjoyed the day we went out shooting together. Too bad you're not returning to New England thus year. Andy is coming up this year. Really looking forward to it. Also, I visited your blog the other day. Outstanding photography as usual but the story of that hike you took to get down into that gorge was incredible. You are a superhero! :-)
