Another Summer Coming To An End

We've had some ridiculously beautiful Fall like weather here in New England over the past few weeks. There's been a definite Fall feel to the air......cool crisp mornings and glorious sunny days with no humidity. There's also been some days with Summer like temps mixed in....today for example is like that....but all in all it's felt more Fall like than Summer. Which brings us to tomorrow as being the first official day of Fall!

Bye bye Summer....

I went to CC Reading Farmstand in West Bridgewater MA with my girlfriends on Friday. The tomatoes are still awesome there and my friend said it was the best corn on the cob of the Summer. But like all of the other farm stands in the area, things are transitioning over to being more Fall like with pumpkin displays, hay bales, gords etc.

And the end of the Summer flowers....

I have my Fall mojo going on and am happily anticipating my upcoming trip to Vermont to once again photograph my favorite subject in my favorite place. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

Scituate MA with Hurricane Dorian way off the coast

With hurricane Dorian far off the coast of New England, I figured we would still have some sizable swells and waves coming on shore, so I headed to Scituate last evening to photograph high tide.

Scituate Lighthouse:

The waves were crashing along the breaker across the water from the lighthouse. That's where I was photographing from, and by using a long lens, it almost appears that the waves were breaking against the lighthouse due to compression from the long lens.

It was a gorgeous evening to be out along the shore, and I'm very thankful that New England didn't get a direct hit by this destructive storm. Prayers for all of those affected. 

Summer Flowers

I apologize for slacking here on the blog this Summer. I swear this has been the busiest Summer of my adult life. Ireland was such a fantastic kick off to the Summer, but since I returned home it's been one thing after the other, so to speak, and I really haven't dedicated much time to photography.

One day last week I did get out with my camera to photograph some flowers. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Travel Tuesday

******TRAVEL TUESDAY******

Day five of our Ireland trip...... we checked out of our Galway Penthouse and made our way South to Killarney, where we would be spending the next three nights.

Our first stop was to visit the ruins of Kilmacduagh Monastery, which is a ruined abbey located near the town of Gort in County Galway. The monestary was founded in the early 7th century.

We then stopped in Limerick to photograph King John's Castle:

We then stopped for a few hours to walk around the beautiful village of Adare.

And we visited the thatched roof shops:

We then arrived at our next rental home in Killarney, located on the road that leads to the Gap of Dunloe.

Kate Kearney's Cottage is a restaurant/pub located within a 2 minute walk from our rental house. We ate here all three nights. The food was delicious and there was live Irish music playing two out of the three nights.

The next day some of us took carriage rides through the Gap of Dunloe, and others in our group hiked. I took a carriage ride. :-) It was so much fun and such a beautiful place.

That evening some of us went to an Irish music/stepdance show at the Killarney Avenue Hotel. Here are Miss J and I going into the show: (Image taken by Dave Gale)

It was a fun show to see. I fell in love with the Killarney area and the Gap of Dunloe. I know it sounds familiar, but I honestly loved everyplace we visited in Ireland.
