I have sooooo many wonderful memories of times spent here with the kids when they were younger. This place holds some very special memories for us. Sigh.
Happy sigh.
The good thing is now that the kids are older, they are coming back here and making more memories for themselves. This makes me very happy!
My favorite spot at the lake is over on the right hand side at a little cove. There are several birch trees (I LOVE birch trees) and this is where I parked my chair (and my butt) on Saturday for a few hours of peaceful relaxation with a good book, and my camera of course.

I wasn't the only one sitting under the birch trees. I had some company.

It was a beautiful blue sky day and things were really "looking up"! :-)

It makes me happy to know the next time I'll be visiting here, this place will be ablaze in Fall colors. But no matter what the season, the beauty of this special place is a gift that I certainly do not take for granted.
Welcome back! How have things been going? It's crazy busy up here and I hope you are doing well!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful and relaxing spot Carol! I always remember Tony and Jay out in the canoe there. So glad you had a perfect weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Andree,
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to hear from you. I have been a little worried about you as I have visited your blog over the past few months and noticed you haven't been posting. I'm so glad to read that you have just been busy and that things are ok with you all up in Barton! We are all doing well, thanks for asking. Things are good and I'm really looking forward to spending some time up there in the Fall. :-)Hope you have a great school year!
Hi Nancy,
ReplyDeleteYes, that was a fun day when we brought the canoe to the lake. It was when Jay was younger and so hyperactive and I was worried he would tip the canoe over when out with Tony! I remember Tony saying that Jay talked nonstop the whole time they were out there. :-)So glad to have shared such fun times spent with such good friends!!!
My favorite memory was fishing ALL day and yelling to N to come help me because i would get the line stuck EVERY time...he never even got annoyed ; )
ReplyDeleteNo, he didn't get annoyed at all! He was such a kind and helpful brother who had so much patience with you.
ReplyDeleteNOT! :-)
Too funny!!!!
