Bald Eagle Nest

The eaglets have grown so quickly at the nest which I've been visiting this Spring. I would guess they are probably 7 or 8 weeks old and it boggles my mind how big they are already. Mama no longer is in the nest with them. I'm sure she must be very happy about that. One of the adults came along yesterday with a large fish. I was excited and assumed the adult would land in the nest with the fish.......but nope.......the adult did a fly by the nest with the fish......verbally communicated with the eaglets, and then flew to a distant tree where it devoured the fish.

This is the other adult who also did a fly by the nest about 45 minutes later after the one with the fish came by.

A Few From This Week

Welcome to the start of the Memorial Day Weekend here in the US. The weekend weather is looking rather iffy here in Southern New England, although today it's a perfect 10 here.

Time is really passing quickly, and I just noticed that the last time I posted a blog post was a week ago today. I think I'll share a few photos with you that I have taken within the past week.

Black Crowned Night Herons

Each year when the herring are running, I always see some Black Crowned Night Herons hanging out along the herring run. Here are a few recent photos I have taken.

Goslings at Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington MA

Continuing on with the Spring Nature theme that's been going on over the past few weeks here on the blog, I'd like to introduce you to two goslings who I found with their Mom and Dad during my cememtery drive through the other day. I'm always driving through here with my camera to see the wildlife.
