Is this what I think it is????

Please pinch me! I am over the top excited with this photograph. Please tell me that I photographed a Peregrine Falcon. I really think that's what this bird is. I've never seen one in the wild before, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw this one today.........and I was able to rifle off a few shots as well. Now, if you tell me this isn't a Peregrine Falcon, I will be disappointed for sure. So please don't disappoint me. :-)
This was taken up in Newport VT this morning. Mr. S and I did a lot of driving around today.........we hit rain, then drizzle, then just clouds, then a bit of brighteneing, then rain, then drizzle and on and on. And on. But, besides this fantastic bird of prey, I also found a new spot that I want to return to photograph in the Fall. It's not a popular spot, and I found it by chance on the web last week so I went to check it out today. It's called McAllister Pond, and it's located in Hazen's Notch. My photos from today are just ho hum because of the low clouds hanging over the distant mountains. But in the Fall, this spot has the promise for some wonderful reflection shots:

Can you see the reflection of the rounded mountain in the water in the forefront? Picture this. That mountain ablaze in Autumns colors reflecting in the water. I can see it in my mind. Pretty huh?
So, all in all, a very good day, despite the weather. :-)
Here's one more photograph. This one was taken yesterday, but I processed the heck out of it and I like it. (These are the things we photographers do on rainy days. If we can't take a picture, we play with the ones we already have taken.) Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Anyways, here's my "artistic" shot which I titled "Heading Home". I hope you like it, and if you don't like it, I hope you can at least appreciate my efforts. :-)

God love all of the farmers. What a hard way of living. They are some of the hardest working people in our country. Seven days a week.......... from before sun up to sundown in all kinds of weather. I hope my photograph pays homage to their hard work.

Day 81/Year 2
Okay....another cloudy showery day. A great day for slow shutter speed photography, so I took advanatge of the weather for that purpose. This is the Barton River.
Next shot is the Willoughby River:
Finally, I just HAVE to put the cow photo up. It's not the usual cow shot and I was very pleased to get it!

I have more to share, but have to go. I'm sitting at the ice cream counter in the village and have overstayed my welcome. The girls are closing up, in fact, they closed 5 minutes ago but are allowing me to sit here. Gotta give them a nice tip! :-) Be back tomorrow night with more shots to share. Guess what? Weather is forecasted for more of the same tomorrow.........Have a good night!!

Saturday in Vermont

Day 80/Year 2
Saturday's photos a day late. Sorry. This was driving through Franconia Notch in the morning on the way to Vermont. As you can see, the weather wasn't the greatest.....but it could have been worse, so not complaining.
This is a low cloud/fog scene in Barton VT:
Here's Burke Mountain on our way to dinner. I love the cloud hovering over and taking on the shape of the mountain:

Made the best of the weather conditions.........

Ground cover

Day 79/Year 2
This groundcover grows out in the rock garden on my front yard. Not sure what it's called, but it's hearty and comes back every year. Anyone know what this is?

Funky storm clouds

Day 78/Year 2

We had severe thunderstoms move through the area around dinner time this evening. I went outside and took a few photos of the clouds along the leading edge of the storm.

Foo Foo

Day 77/Year 2
Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping thru the forest,
Scooping up the field mice and boppin' 'em on the head.
Down came the good fairy
And she said:
"Little Bunny Foo Foo, I don't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice and boppin' 'em on the head
I'll give you three chances,
And if you don't behave
I'll turn you into a goon!"
The next day:

Little Bunny Foo Foo,
Hopping thru the forest,
Scooping up the field mice and boppin' 'em on the head
Down came the good fairy
And she said:
"Little Bunny Foo Foo,
I don't want to see you
Scooping up the field mice and boppin' 'em on the head.
I'll give you two more chances,
And if you don't behave
I'll turn you into a goon!"

Hopping thru the forest,
Scooping up the field mice and boppin' 'em on the head.
Down came the good fairy

Now you're a goon!
POOF!

This little piggy got broken!

Day 76/Year 2
Oh dear! Miss J broke a toe this morning. She stubbed it on one of her exercise weights on her bedroom floor. She heard it break.
It was a pretty shade of purple, huh? I'm not sure what color it is by tonight. Poor kid. She's leaving at 5 am tomorrow morning to go to S Carolina. She is in a wedding down there on Saturday. I hope she can walk in her bridesmaid shoes.
Feel better soon Miss J and don't forget to keep up with the Ibuprofen!
Some of you may have noticed the size of Miss J's toes. See how her second toe is longer than her big toe? Well, she inherited that from me. So didn't her brother N. All 3 of us have that extra large second toe phenomenon. :-)
