Frita gets a bath

208/365
Frita is the name of my car. She was a very dirty girl from traveling along all of the dirt roads of Vermont for the past week. So, this morning I took her to the car wash for a much needed bath.

DAILY BONUS!!!!!!!!!!
I have decided for the next week or two to add a daily bonus shot from my Vermont photography trip. I know.......I know......I am sure you are all excited about this new turn of events here on the blog! :-) Today's bonus photo is of Craftsbury Common. The reason I chose this photo for today's bonus, is because we had a very similar day weather-wise here today.....gorgeous blue sky just like the day this one was taken.

It's so much more than leaves

207/365
I really liked the way the first light of the morning was hitting these trees along the side of a road in Barton this morning.
We then stopped so I could photograph this pumpkin patch and from there, we headed to The Parsons Corner for breakfast, packed up the vehicles and hit the road to head home.

I had such an amazing week. It was more than just the leaves, mountains, farms, valleys, and views. It was the friends that I shared all of these things with that made this past week so memorable for me. I am so blessed to have found such dear friends, and to have spent such a wonderful time photographing and cruising so many of the back roads of Vermont with these special people means the world to me. A very special thank you to Al and his wife Lynne, George and his wife Jeanette, my dear dear friend Andy, I just love you to pieces.....thanks for everything. It was a pleasure to meet Brian, and what a thrill it was for me to be out and about in The NEK of Vermont photographing with all of these wonderful photographers.
I also would like to thank my dear native Vermonter friends for taking me to so many of the off the beaten path places that I never would have been able to find on my own. The days we spent together were so very special and I thank you Phil and BM from the bottom of my heart for all of your generosity and hospitality.
Last but not least, I want to thank my good friend Luv2BNVT.........thank you for everything. Thelma and Louise really hit the road running and I'll never forget all of the laughs, the sights, and the folio's. :-)
I am back home now where I belong, but a piece of my heart still remains up in Vermont. It would be a lie if I said I didn't shed a tear as I gazed out the window of the truck as we passed the remaining foliage on the hillsides of the Northeast Kingdom on the way home this morning. Until next time.........

Made the best of a rainy day

206/365
I checked out of the inn in Waitsfield and drove back up to meet Mr S in Barton. He missed me while I was gone. :-) It was a rainy day up in the NEK, We took a drive to Island Pond to look for moose, but they were not in the mood to come out and play in the rain I guess. So, we made our way down to East Burke where I did some shooting on Darling Hill Road.........that's where the above photo was taken. We had a nice dinner at the Pub Outback and then headed home for the night. I was beat!

The Final Thelma and Louise adventure

I am just going to let my photos speak for themselves. I had an amazing day from beginning to end. It's late and I'm too tired for narrative tonight. Tomorrow I check out of the inn and head back up to Barton to meet Mr S and spend the day with him. Here's a small sample of my day today.

Finally, at the end of the day, I witnessed an amazing weather phenomena. There was a storm front that blew through just before sunset and I was up the top of a mountain ridge and saw the most amazing cloud formation/vortex type of thing. This next photo was shot after the main event, but I will put the other shots up on my website next week. It was surreal.

The Adventures Continue: Day 3 for Thelma and Louise

Once again, I was up and out shooting before the crack of dawn today. It started to rain as soon as I left the inn. I got lucky and my persistence paid off, as the low clouds lifted and the rain stopped in time for me to get a few decent shots before heading back to the inn for breakfast at 9am. This shot is of a barn on Common Rd in Waitsfield.
Breakfast was once again yummy, then Thelma and Louise hit the road for a long day of wonderous adventures. Our first stop was a series of covered bridges in Northfield. In this particular shot, you can see I was standing inside one bridge as I was photographing the next bridge down the road:

We visited a few otheer covered bridges, then went up a beautiful road called Turkey Hill Rd where we saw some really great color:

We saw and photographed some beautiful old New England churches and villages. One place in particular that I really enjoyed seeing was the Strafford Meeting House in Strafford VT:

We visited and photographed several more places......too many to mention here. I had such a wonderful day. Yes, the weather could have been better........I was dealing with grey sky photography the entire day.........however we really lucked out as the rain really didn't begin to fall until we were about 2 hours away from getting back to the inn.

Thelma and Louise Day 2 Adventures

                                  203/365
Had a great nights sleep last night. Woke up before dawn and headed put to start my day of photography. Louise slept in,,,,,she is not a photographer, so therefore not an early riser. This is one of the photos I took of Bragg Hill Farm. I spent about an hour shooting here. It's a wonderful spot and the views are breathtaking,
From here, I went back down to Waitsfield Village, where I shot a church scene with the mountains behind it. I had to go out in a field behind the church to get the shot.

I was soaken from my hiking shoes up to my knees,:-) I then came back here to the inn to change my clothes, and have some delicious breakfast. Our friend bm picked us up here at 9:30 (by this time Louise was awoken, fed, and refreshed :-).....the 3 of us headed ut for a wonderful day. I took lots of pictures. One place in particular that we stopped at was Moss Glen Falls:

It was a beautiful sight today. The falls were really rushing from all of the recent rains of last week,
Tomorrow the weather is looking iffy.........but nothing's gonna stop Thelma and Louise from having another action packed day. Stay tuned for tomorrow nights blog. :-)

The adventures of Thelma and Louise Day one

I kissed Mr S goodbye at 10:15 this morning, and left him at our VT house and drove an hour and a half to Waitsfield VT, where I have met up with my good friend Luv2BNVT who is a regular commenter here on my blog. Our identities for this week have been changed. I am now known as Thelma, and she is now known as Louise.
Day one started with meeting another friend bm, for lunch here in Waitsfield. We then took a very scenic drive around the area:

The room here at the inn is gorgeous. I'll take a picture of it to show you another day this week. I am exhausted right now and am laying in a beautiful comfy bed as I'm blogging this tonight. Gotta go get some beauty sleep. I will be uo before sunrise tomorrow to get out and take some morning shots. We have a very full day planned for tomorrow. Stay tuned to see and hear about it tomorrow night here on my blog.
Sweet Autumn Dreams!
