Mama Fox

I hope you all survived the rain and wind storm we had here yesterday. We were very lucky to not lose power, as a lot of our town did lose power and they are still without it today. The only damage we sustained was our gas grill. The wind flipped it over frontwards. I'm not sure how damaged it is yet, but it doesn't look good. Mr S will check it out today.

As the wind was blowing the trees sideways in the woods out back, I couldn't help but think of my fox friends back there. I was hoping they were safely hunkered down in their den.

Speaking of the fox, my persistence paid off the other evening. It's not easy to get photos of them this year, as they are not coming out of the woods into the backyard like they have in previous years. I'm sure the reason is because they have been scared away several times by our next door neighbors who are protecting their chickens. And rightly so I must add.

I spend my evenings sitting on Mr S's tractor which is parked out back by the woods with my 150-600 mm lens on my camera waiting for some action. I saw Mama come up from the den and instead of running off out of sight, she decided to sit for a bit. I was happy to see her and happy to be able to take some photos of her.

Isn't she beautiful?

The weather is decent today and I'm planning on being back there this evening "fox hunting" as I like to call it. Hope you're having a great day!
Stay safe my friends. xxoo
