Sam Adams Brewery Tour

Yesterday I took a tour of the Sam Adams Brewery in Jamaica Plain MA with some members of my camera club.

 Upon our arrival, we were asked if we would like to participate in a taste test of six different brews which are being considered to be added to their collection.

They each had their own distinct flavors and we were asked to rate them. I have to admit, a few of them I liked, and a few of them I didn't really care for, and one of them I extremely disliked. In fairness, I may not be the perfect person for such a taste test. 

The tour was informative and we all really enjoyed listening to how the beer was made.

At one point we were given the hops and asked to smell them, then break them open a bit and use friction by rubbing them together in our hands. This released the odor and the oils in the hops. The odor really came out after rubbing them.

Our favorite part of the tour was the taste testing.

The last stop on the way out was the gift shop where you can purchase all sorts of Sam Adams clothing and products, including beer, to bring home.

This tour is free of charge. One of Boston's best kept secrets and I highly recommend it. We had such a great time.

A Bit Of Snow This Morning

We had our first snowfall of 2020 overnight here in SE MA. Just an inch or so but enough to pretty things up in the early morning hours. I dashed out the door with my camera as soon as I woke up.

2019 Year In Review Photographs

Happy New Year.......a time of reflection of the past and looking forward to the future and new beginnings. Each new year I post my favorite photos of the year.

January.......on the way to an early dinner we stopped at Damon's Point in Marshfield MA and I loved the color of the sky to the East as the sun was setting behind me.

February.......found this beautiful Snowy Owl in Duxbury MA.

March.........Hit a major snowstorm on the way to VT which resulted in these two photos I took in Sugar Hill NH.

April.......I always love shooting wildlife in the Spring. Here's a hard to get shot of a bluebird taking off in flight at the Daniel Webster Sanctuary in Marshfield MA and an adult Bald Eagle perched beside her nest in Plymouth MA.

May....more Spring wildlife with a fox kit taken in East Bridgewater MA and a newborn cygnet with Mama taken in Abington MA.

June....A Great Blue Heron nest. I titled this one "Double Decker"

In June I also took my first trip to Ireland.

July....One of my favorite parts of the Ireland trip was the day we took a boat ride out to the Great Blasket Island. It was incredible.

August....brought some flowers.

September ....Hurricane Dorian off the coast brought some huge waves to Scituate MA.

September also brought the colors of Fall to the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

October.......brought more Fall colors in Vermont.

November....A trip to Porcupine Falls in Gilsum NH
