Dragonfly Island Grove Abington MA

The dragonfly symbolizes change and self realization...... the kind of change associated with mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. The dragonfly's scurrying flight across the water symbolizes the act of going beyond the surface and looking into the deeper aspects of life.

The dragonfly has the ability to move in all six directions which exudes a sense of power and poise....something which comes with age and maturity. The dragonfly can move at an amazing 45 mph, hover like a helicopter, fly backwards, fly straight up, down, and either side. It moves faster and has more wing power than most other insects, and it is done with elegance and grace.

The dragonfly lives most of it's life as a nymph and flies for only a few months of it's life. This is said to exemplify living life IN the moment and living life to the fullest. It is a symbol of change and self awareness due to the way it uses it's power and control so effortlessly and elegantly and the way it can be comfortable on water, air, and land.

Are YOU like the dragonfly???
