Two of the three cygnets have survived so far. The snapping turtles and or hawks usually prey on the cygnets and it's not surprising that one of them is gone. It's great to see the remaining two growing and thriving.

Farmhouse Style Photography
This image is part of a new collection that I am working on which I am calling Farmhouse Style Photography. This genre is where my heart lies and will be featuring images that I would be happy to hang in my own farmhouse. A few of my other recent postings on this blog that you have seen are also part of this collection.

Baby Robin
This adorable baby robin was in a nest in my next doors neighbors grapevine. It has since fledged since I took this photo.

Daylilies
Summer gardens are bursting with so many different varieties of daylilies during the month of July. Here are two pretty varieties I photographed while up in VT last week.

Red Sky Trading
Free range and happy. Although you can see a little wire behind this beautiful hen, she actually has a lovely yard and gardens to wander around in up in Glover VT. This photo was taken at The Red Sky Trading Shop, which is one of my favorite places to photograph.

Vermont Landscape
I'm pretty happy with this landscape shot I took last week in Barton VT. This was taken along May Pond Road in Barton at the Windswept Farm at sunset. A good landscape image has an interesting forefront and different layers in the image, which I feel this image has. I hope you enjoy it. I never get tired of this view.

May Pond Barton VT
Throughout the years, you have seen me post many images of May Pond, which is one of my favorite places on the planet. I just love the quiet solitude that I find here, and it brings a peaceful feeling to my soul. Sounds nerdy, but it's really how I feel.
One of my favorite things about landscape photography is the fact that you can repeatedly photograph the same place, yet no two pictures are ever the same. I have photographed here during each of the four Seasons that New England has to offer and each season has it's own unique perspective. I've also photographed at different times of the day......from early morning at sunrise, to late day near sunset, and each time of the day offers different light which brings a different perspective. Also, you have seen some night sky photographs that I have taken here as well.
I just got home from a Summer family vacation up to our VT home. This was not a photography trip so I didn't take too many photographs. However, one evening before sunset I went out on my own (with my camera of course) to May Pond. Here is a Summer evening view of my little piece of Heaven on Earth.

In this crazy world in which we live, it's so good for the soul to to have a place such as this.

Dragonfly Island Grove Abington MA
The dragonfly symbolizes change and self realization...... the kind of change associated with mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. The dragonfly's scurrying flight across the water symbolizes the act of going beyond the surface and looking into the deeper aspects of life.
The dragonfly has the ability to move in all six directions which exudes a sense of power and poise....something which comes with age and maturity. The dragonfly can move at an amazing 45 mph, hover like a helicopter, fly backwards, fly straight up, down, and either side. It moves faster and has more wing power than most other insects, and it is done with elegance and grace.
The dragonfly lives most of it's life as a nymph and flies for only a few months of it's life. This is said to exemplify living life IN the moment and living life to the fullest. It is a symbol of change and self awareness due to the way it uses it's power and control so effortlessly and elegantly and the way it can be comfortable on water, air, and land.
Are YOU like the dragonfly???

Abington Swans Island Grove
I haven't visited the pond for several days. The cygnets are already getting bigger and the family is no longer using the nest. I found them today over on the "busy" side of the pond. They are a beautiful family.

Abington Swans Are Born At Island Grove 2016
So happy to report that the second clutch of eggs that were laid by the Abington swans hatched over the weekend. There were three cygnets yesterday. The nest is not easily visible or accessible.....a VERY GOOD THING for this family....so I'm not sure if there are any other eggs to be hatched. I will stop down the pond later today to see if there are any more cygnets that have hatched.. But in the meantime, look at this beautiful family......

Jack Brook Falls VT
We visited one of my favorite places for waterfall photography in VT when we were up there a few weeks ago on the fundraiser weekend. Jack Brook Falls is located in East Haven, way off the beaten path in rural VT, However, it is easily accessible as Jack Brook flows along a dead end dirt road.
I've shared Autumn photos and Winter photos that I've taken from this location here on the blog over the past year or two. Today I will share with you a few late Spring/Early Summer photos.
