Day 116/Year 2

I thought I would share a few more photos taken at Lolan's Farm in Middleboro yesterday. What a beautiful farm and the hard work that goes into running this business simply amazes me. It was wonderful to spend some time with Sue and learn the ins and outs of her daily schedule. Here is Sue showing us an odd shaped egg that one of her hens lays.

Farm Photography

I took 2 members of camera club out to photograph some of my favorite farms today. One of the members was asked to supply some farm images to hang in a local resturant. I was happy to show her around to the farms that I have visited in the past. (You remember me and my farm fettish from last summer, right????) :-) Yessiree........we visited the farms today and had a BALL!!!!!!!!! We met at 6 am and hit the road running. This is the first farm we stopped at....the cows came out for breakfast just minutes aftter we arrived. Perfect timing!

This farm is in West Bridgewater MA. From here, we went to Lolans Farms on Thompson Street in Middleboro. We were greeted by Sue at the farmstand. She remembered me. :-) Not only did she give us full access to her entire farm, but she allowed us into the barn while she milked the cows.

It was amazing to see how the whole milking process works. The mlk is pumped by machine, runs through the tubes and ends up in a cooling tank.

We had so much fun, and Sue could not have been any more gracious!

Last but not least, today is Mr. S's birthday. Here's a sunflower from the Soule Farm in honor of Mr. S., because afterall.......he is the sunshine of my life!!!!!!!!!! :-)

Alleluia

Day 114/Year 2

Today is a perfect ten. No, it's even higher than a ten. What's the highest number that the perfect weather can be? Whatever that number is, that's what it was here today. I can't stand the heat and humidity of the summer. Especially the humidity. I'm a sweater. ie: I sweat. A lot.

There was no sweating for me today. No sirree. That's because it was the perfect whatever the highest number can be day. Perfect. Glorious. Alleluia. Just like this older photo of mine. The duck is saying Alleluia. This is a fact. I was there. :-) Just like I was saying Alleluia myself today. You know, 'cuz it was the perfect day!

Scituate

Day 113/Year 2

I stopped at the Driftway in Scituate last night on my way to the lighthouse photo shoot. It was a beautiful evening. I set my aperture to f22 to get the starburst effect from the sun in this image.

Portrait Workshop

Day 112/Year 2

I attended a portrait photography workshop in Scituate this evening. I learned a lot, and it was a lot of fun. The 2 models we were given to work with were just adorable as well!

Cup runneth over

Or should I say I almost got run over at the cup? :-) The Stanley Cup came to visit us at work today. How exciting is that??????? I must say that I have a new found appreciation of the work that the paparazzi does. I was jockeying for position to get some photos. Most of my shots have elbows, arms, knees, butts and other assorted body parts in the way. It was a tough crowd! We only had the cup for about 5 minutes in my department. Here are the members of my Department waiting for the big arrival. This is the hallway leading into the kitchen. I positioned myself up front. Trust me when I say the crowd was pretty deep beyond:

It was brought to the hospital by one of the Physical Therapists from the Boston Bruins organization. I'm sorry I don't have his name to share, but he lives on the South Shore and today was his "turn" to have the cup.

You see me write about my photography buddy Diane all the time here on the blog. Diane is the one kneeling beside the woman in the pink shirt in this next photo. She's wearing the blue shirt, lab jacket, and big smile:

My buddy Matt has made quite a few appearances here on the blog in the past. Matt is one of the biggest Bruins fans that I know. I was so happy for him today! He's the one wearing the white Bruins hat in the next photo:

******Just a few thoughts. It was a big deal here in New England to have the Bruins win the Stanley Cup. The team has overcome a lot of adversity and they came from behind in the series and fought their way to get this victory. It didn't come easy. This cup is more than just a sports symbol.

All of us.....I don't care who you are.........have to face adversity at certain times in our lives. There are times when we feel hopeless and face daily struggles. This cup is a reminder to all of us......don't ever give up......keep working towards your goal........keep a positive attitude......keep the faith......and know that you can overcome whatever life throws your way. ******

Adding some interest

Day 110/Year 2

An artistic image taken in Barton VT. I like the effect I gave to this one.....I hope you like it too. The original image was pretty "as is". However, I felt it needed a little softening and play of color and this was the end result. I think it gives the image a more serene feeling.
