I think it's always a good idea to at least consider an out-of-the-box approach, and b&w post-processing of a fall color image definitely qualifies.<br /><br />A PP suggestion, if I may: if you haven't already, you might consider a selective (i.e. control point-enabled) darkening/contrast enhancement of the sky and its reflection.
