Jay Peak and Dandelion Season in Vermont

Dandelion season in Vermont is always such a beautiful time of the year. Each Spring, the fields of Vermont are dotted with beautiful yellow dandies. Last week the dandies were in full bloom up in the Northeast Kingdom.

While traveling around the area of Jay, we noticed this gorgeous field of dandelions. It's nice to photograph the fields, but to me, it's even better when there is an interesting focal point beyond the field. Our car came to a screeching halt when we saw this scene, which was so much fun to photograph. I love how this scene shows the changing seasons, with a last bits of snow remaining on the slopes of Jay Peak in the background, and the spring blooms in the foreground. And how adorable is the log cabin? I really love this scene.

Here's another scene we found with a field of dandies in the forefront, with Jay Peak beyond.

Orne Covered Bridge and Irasburg Village VT

More from day two of my VT Spring photography trip. After sunrise at Crystal Lake, we went to the Orne Covered Bridge in Irasburg. The sky had cleared and it was turning into a beautiful day.

The red farmhouse and barn are a nice scene to photograph through the bridge.

We drove through the bridge and drove up the road for a few miles. The morning light was magical and we stopped to photograph some backlit cows.

From here we went to Irasburg Village and stopped at Ray's Market for a cup of coffee.

More from day two coming soon!

Spring at Crystal Lake, Barton VT

Day two of Spring vacation in VT. We left the house at 5AM to catch the sunrise at Crystal Lake. Unfortunately, there was a lot of cloud cover and we didn't get a decent sunrise. There were some clouds which gave a little bit of drama to the sky so we made the best with what Mother Nature gave to us.

Spring in New Hampshire and Vermont

Hello!!! Had a great week last week up in Vermont with some friends. We had a great time doing some Spring photography. I will start a series of blog posts starting with day one.

We left home at 5AM. Our fist stop was for breakfast at Polly's Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill NH. If you have never been there, I highly recommend that you go. I've been more time than I can count and it's always been great. It's a very popular well known place.

It was lightly raining and we decided to take the back roads up to our destination.......my home up in Barton VT. The purple flowers in front of this red barn caught our eye and we pulled over to make some photos.

The rain had ended by the time we reached the Northeast Kingdom of VT. We stopped at a waterfall in Sheffield to take some photos. The waterfalls and rivers and streams were flowing nicely due to all of the recent rain.

This is a stream aong the side of the road on Rte 122 in Sheffield VT

While photographing the stream, this house across the street caught my eye.

The sky never cleared so we spent the rest of the day food shopping and relaxing in the house. It was a nice start to a wonderful week.
