Kindness, Generosity, and Most Of All Love

You have seen me mention my friend David on a few recent blog posts. David is battling stage 4 brain cancer. A group of his friends got together to put on a fundraiser event to help David in his time of need. I'm honored to have been on this fundraising committee with such caring, helpful, generous, and kind people.
Our world is in such a troubled time right now. There is so much anger, violence, prejudice, and hate. Just look at our Presidential Candidates. It literally makes me sick and disheartened. And then you see something like this come together. So many people have donated their precious time, talents, money, food, resources etc to help another person.....and in some cases someone they never actually met before......yet gladly help out because they can.
To me, that is what it's all about. That is the reason why we are hear on this Earth. To help others. And it's just damn awesome to see it happen.

Here are the emcees for the evening of the event. This is Butch Stearns, a Sportcaster on FOX 25 News in Boston, along with his talented brother Derek Stearns. These men had never met David.....yet they took their own personal time to help make this event a success. My heart is so touched by their generosity and kindness.

Here is David, thanking the crowd for attending. FOX 25 news sent a camera crew to the event. None of us knew they were going to be doing this. It has not been aired yet, but I will let you know when it will be aired if you are interested in seeing it.

As a surprise for the evening.....David and his wonderful and loving girlfriend Theresa did a commitment ceremony. I don't know if there was a dry eye in the house. It was so beautiful and touching.

The future is so uncertain for all of us........but even more so for them. But with love, they will conquer whatever they are faced with together.

No words are needed.
