Week Three------Red

Week Three of 52 Week Photo Challenge. The theme for this week is "Red". I bought myself a beautiful bouquet of flowers for this challenge. It did two things. It gave a pretty fresh Spring feel to my kitchen, and it provided a subject to photograph for this challenge.

Once again I am a week behind in this challenge. My Dad has been in the hospital since the morning I bought these flowers. I have not been home in the daylight for 5 days......today was the the first day I had time to shoot. Dad should be going to Rehab to get his strength back this week. He was pretty sick with pneumonia in both lungs, but is recovering.

A Gulls Life

Here's an image taken this past Summer in Scituate MA. It's extremely cold and windy here today, unlike this beautiful morning just after sunrise.

52 Week Challenge

Weeks one and two:

I have joined a 52 week photography challenge. It is going to be quite a challenge, but I am up for it.  I think.........

I'm a little behind as this challenge began January first.

Week one topic is "Selfie" Gah.....I hate selfies. I decided to just take a picture of me doing what I love to do best.

I know....I look very scary.

Week Two topic is "Landscape". I shot this yesterday in Wareham MA.

I See You

Saw another Red Tailed Hawk today. This time I had the Nikon with me. Was able to take a few quick shots before it flew away.

Winter At Jack Brook, VT

Some of my favorite images from last Fall were taken at Jacks Brook in East Haven VT. I visited this site during New Years Weekend. It was so beautiful in the snow.

Late Day Winter Scene In Vermont

"Ummmmmm......can we turn around please"? I asked Mr S as we were passing this hillside last weekend. We had been out for a drive one afternoon in VT, and I saw this scene as the sun was setting, and thought it might make a nice picture. I was glad we turned around......

Coventry VT

I had a wonderful New Years weekend up in Vermont. It was relaxing and a great way to start the new year. Throughout the past several years, I have had a heck of a time making Winter images in VT. I never hit it right......I want to be there after a fresh snowfall to take pretty pictures with the trees all covered in snow but I never seem to be there at the right time.

There is a scene in Coventry VT that I have been wanting to photograph in the Winter for quite some time. Although the trees were not covered with snow, I still am fairly happy with the images that I took. I love a "pop of red" in a snow scene.......and that is why I wanted to shoot this scene in the Winter.

Here is Coventry VT:

Some day I will make it back here after a fresh snowfall, but for now, this will do.

South Shore Living Magazine

The New Year has started of on a good note for me, photographically speaking. One of my images is featured in the January 2016 issue of South Shore Living Magazine in "The Last Scene" section....which is the last page of the magazine where local artists and photographers works are shown. I was honored when I was contacted by the editor.
