Clarks Pond VT and VT Sugar House in the Summer

Days 91 and 92/365

Day 91/365

Glorious morning at Clarks Pond in Glover VT........taken shortly after sunrise. The overnight lows were pretty chilly, so there was a nice little layer of fog across the pond.

Day 92/.365

Early morning light on a sugar house in Glover VT. The VT sugar houses are some of my favorite subjects to photograph, no matter what the season.

Family Portraits at Webb Park in Weymouth MA

Day 90 /365

I know I'm several days behind on my daily blog posts and will catch up later this week.......we had a wonderful few days up in Vermont and I'll be posting some Vermont photos this week.......but today is all about some family portraits that I recently took.

This is Elizabeth. She is an adorable little nugget with the most beautiful blue eyes. ***Cuteness alert***. She is precious!

Elizabeth didn't want to smile for my camera for some reason......but that's ok !!

It was  VERY windy on the day we shot these pictures. This is my friend Amy, her husband Mark, and of course pretty little Elizabeth.

Here is Amy's sister Terri and her husband Dave

Their two beautiful kids Gianna and David

I had soooo much fun with them. They are an awesome family!

Thank you Amy for sharing your wonderful family with me!!!! xxooo

Great Blue Heron Abington Cemetery

Day 89/365

I'm a happy girl today!!!! We are going up to VT this morning for a few days, and I can't wait to be up there in my happy place.

Our resident Abington Great Blue Heron has a spot that he has been frequenting the past few evenings at the little pond in the cemetery.

I'm hoping to find him here again!

Dee's Shoes With Character

Day 88/365

Ryleigh is a big fan of Mickey and Minnie Mouse....so I ordered her a handpainted pair of sneakers and gave them to her today. She loves them!!!!!!

Here's Mickey.....

And here's Minnie....

These were designed and painted by a very talented girl that I know. She is a College Student who works part time in a Day Care/Nursery School, and she also has this Etsy Shop where her wear-able works of art footware can be purchased. PLEASE visit her website. Her work is amazing.......she paints sneakers for all ages......kids, adults, men and woman.

The attention to detail is impeccable. I love the back of the shoes as well as the front!

Order yours today on Etsy!!

Mama Swan Rotating The Eggs

Days 86 and 87/365
I hope you are not getting tired of seeing the Abington swans featured here on the blog. It is a passion of mine to follow this couple.
It has been longer than 42 days, which is the incubation period. I am now thinking that the first clutch did not hatch, and that this is a second clutch. I could very well be wrong.......but she wouldn't still be sitting on the nest and turning the eggs if they were not viable........so there is still hope. These images taken today.

I'm remaining hopeful!!!!

Happy Fathers Day

Day 85/365

Do you remember a few weeks ago I said I had some good news? Well, the good news is that we have moved my father into an assisted living apartment where he lives. He was in an independent apartment.......and you have no idea the relief I feel now that he is over on the assisted living side.

He is on the second floor, and there is a lovely covered porch at the end of the hallway....and that is where he is spending a lot of his time nowadays.

He is coming to my house today for Fathers Day.  This morning we went to breakfast with my Father In Law. I hope you are enjoying your Fathers Day as well!

Sunset Lake Braintree MA

Days 83 and 84/365

Day 83

Prayers for Charleston SC. How can there be so much hate in this world?? It's so upsetting and I just can't wrap my head around it........it's senseless........A church is a sacred place........as I was taught growing up.......a church is "God's home". Sigh......

One of my favorite things to incorporate in a New England landscape is a white steepled church. I shot this image two days ago at Sunset Lake in Braintree MA, I took my Dad out to get some fresh air and relaxation.

Day 84

And here's a pretty dragonfly I found.

Prayers for peace.

Fly Fisherman

Day 82/365

I saw this fly fisherman at Studleys Pond in Rockland MA, and asked him for permission to photograph him. He was very obliging!

He was catching one sunfish every couple of minutes!

The Ducks Are Friends With The Swans At Island Grove

Days 79 and 80/365

Meanwhile, down at the pond.......

The ducks are surrounding Papa Swan......they are also surrounding Mama on the the nest like little soldiers, but it's difficult to get a photo of them at the nest due to limited access with all of the greenery.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Abington Butterfly Garden

Days 76 and 77/365

The swans are nesting right across the street from the Butterfly Garden in Abington MA. (I just got home from visiting the nest....still no babies). The other day I walked through the butterfly garden with my camera. There were no butterflies (I notice they usually don't visit the garden until much later in the summer for some reason). Here's a couple of pictures I took there.

A Sparrow, Jenny Pond Swans, and the Abington Swan Nest

Days 73. 74, 75/365

Day 73

Blogging three days here on this post. Here is a pretty little sparrow taken at the pond in Rockland the other day:

Day 74

Went to Jenny Pond in Plymouth MA this weekend and found this adorable Swan family:

How adorable is this signet?

Day 75

On the other hand, still waiting for the arrival of the signets in Abington. Mom was adding more materials to the nest today.

And she was doing some preening

She stood up just for a few seconds long enough to show me the eggs

Dad was nowhere around when I was there today.  These eggs should be hatching any time now and I can't wait to see the signets.

Families

Days 71 and 72/365

Families come in all kinds of ways.......and the best things about families is that they stick together and they have LOVE!!

There are all sorts of water fowl down at the pond in Rockland. What struck me was this white domestic goose family........there were three adults and the one baby gosling. All of the other geese at the pond were Canada Geese. These three domestic geese spent the entire time wandering around together. All three adults were very protective of the gosling. I found it unusual that there were three adults......typically there is just a Mom and Dad with the baby/babies. It was so nice to see and it warmed my heart for some reason that these four were truly a "family".
