Jay

Today is the day to share some blog love with my youngest child.
 My baby boy..............
Who is no longer a baby.........
but a wonderful young man.

There just aren't enough "Jay" posts n this blog! Miss J gets a lot of blog time....and N recently got his time to shine in blogland during his recent wedding. But Jay just quietly goes along life without any blog features.

Poor Jay!!!

So, lets back up to when Jay was a little guy. He faced some things at an early age that no child should ever have to deal with. He has overcome some huge challenges in his life and I could not be any more proud of him than I am today.

Jay is one of my best friends. I love the times we spend together talking and laughing. His laugh is contagious and when he smiles he lights up the room. I love our times together when he is in the mood to talk. He has a lot to say.....and he is very "deep" in his thoughts. He has such a kind manner and he has a heart the size of Texas!

Here he is having some fun "Uncle Jay" time with Ryleigh.

I can hear his laughter just looking at this next picture. :-)

This next picture means a lot to me. It makes my heart swell!

I'm so thankful to have Jay in my life. He makes my world a better place.

Good Friday

The most solemn of all of the Holy Days. When I was a little girl, we were not allowed to go out and have fun on Good Friday. It was a day to mourn and reflect and pay respect to Jesus. I remember when I was in high school, my friends couldn't believe that my parents would not let me go out at night on Good Friday. Are you kidding???? A Friday night and you can't go out????? LOL Even when I was dating Mr. S I couldn't go out on Good Friday.

I was not as strict with my kids on Good Friday. But, I did make sure that they knew the true meaning of the day and it's importance in our lives. I also took them to the Holy Thursday Mass and the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday each year.

In life, we do as we know.

Wishing you and yours a blessed day!

Spring Day in Abington

What a gorgeous day we had today!! It was so nice to be out with my camera in the fresh air and sunshine. What a treat after such a long winter. Spring has finally arrived. It reminds me of something I read on a Vermont Photography site that I belong to. Someone recently posted......they were out photographing and asked a man, "Do you think Spring will ever arrive"? To which the man replied, (only as a true Vermonter would)......."Well it always does"!
It gave me a chuckle!!!!

So here are a few images from one of my favorite stomping grounds.....the cemetery. :-)

The Eastern Painted Turtles were out sunbathing today:

Mr Mallard was out for a swim:

Mrs. Mallard was nearby the Mr.

It was a lovely day for a stroll along the pond:

I hope you enjoyed your day too!

What's Good for the goose is good for the camera

Love love love when a photo opportunity comes my way, as was the case this weekend up in Vermont when I stumbled upon these geese. Thanks pretty geese for posing nicely for me and my camera, and for providing me a pretty background. It was a pleasure to meet you!

Has Spring arrived????

What a beautiful day we had today here in Southern New England. We had bright sunshine and temps in the 40's. It was the kind of day that puts you in a good mood. I swear sometimes I think I suffer from Seasonal Affect Disorder, and I'm sure I'm not the only one!

My Dad is still in the rehab from his recent hospitalization. He has a beautiful private room, with sliding doors that look out onto the back lawn. There are a few bird feeders right outside his room, and it's so nice to sit and look out at nature. There have been quite a few turkey sightings back there in the short time that he's been there. My Dad LOVES to be in the sun. He is really happy in his room at the rehab. It's a nice change for him. Since my Mom's passing, he has not been very happy in his apartment. It's lonely for him, and it has so many memories of her. It's natural for him to feel this way.....but it still makes me sad. He will be a very happy guy once he can go outside and sit in the sun.

Here he is today, enjoying his time in the sun:

Makes you wonder what he's thinking. I hope they are happy thoughts..........
