Luddam's Ford photo walk

Nikon D90, 17-55 mm lens, ISO 320, 1/50, f11
I attended a photo walk this morning at Luddam's Ford Park in Hanover MA. It was led by my friend and very talented photographer, Greg Lessard, http://blog.greglessardphotography.com/ and it was sponsored by the Hanover Arts Council, a member of the MA Arts Council.
Although the skies were grey and the light was flat, we still managed to find some good photo opportunities.

The Pickerelweed growing at the edge of the pond was a nice subject to find.

Anytime to be out with the camera gear is a good time!

  1. Carol, you do so well with photographing with others. I find, I do not. :-( For some reason, I get very intimidated and can't quite get 'inspired'. It is probably just my way of photography. The photo HAS to draw me in somehow. If it doesn't, well, then, I have little interest and don't seem to get the "magic". I envy those, like you, that can get good photos in any setting.

(I just realized that the ONE person I can photograph with is my husband. Perhaps it is because when I am with him, I don't worry about taking too long or fussing too much. ;-) )

  2. I totally get what you are saying Tracy. My good friend Andy once told me that "photography is not a team sport" and he would much prefer to be alone when out shooting. I think it has it's pros and cons. Sometimes it can be frustrating if you want to spend time working a scene and others you are with are ready to move along.....or visa versa.....It's happened to me on several occasions. But, it's also fun to have the cormradery, and if you find a magical moment or some magical light, it's great to share it with others.
I am flattered for you to say you envy me for the ability to get good photos in any setting. I guess if you take enough images, a few are bound to come out good. :-) Seriously, thanks for that comment, as I am huge fan of your work, and *I* certainly am envious of you! Thanks a bunch.
