Nikon 24-120 f4VR lens

I decided I must by a new lens today. I don't know what came over me. I have loved the 18-200 VR lens, but lately I am not too happy with the lack of sharpness. So, I bought the 24-120 f4VR lens as a possible replacement for the 18-200. My thinking is that perhaps I will get a wide angle (maybe a Christmas gift from Mr. S?) and then save my pennies and next year sell the 18-200 and replace it with a longer telephoto for when I want more reach.
I don't have much time for shooting these days, but Mr. S and I went down to the farm to get some things for the wedding, and while there, I did a few test shots.
This first one was taken at 1/640, f4.5, ISO 200
The next one was taken at 1/250, f8

Next one is 1/600, f4

Here's Abby 1/60 f4

Finally, my living room handheld at 1/15, f6.3

These were all handheld at ISO 200 and I did not apply any sharpening in post. These were shot RAW and I increased the saturation a bit and then converted them to jpgs.
Trying to decide if this is a worthy replacement for the 18-200.........
