Another one to cross off the list

93/365
I have a list of places that I want to visit and photograph in the state of Vermont. One of these places I was lucky enough to find today. It was an "accidental" find which makes it even better in my book! We were driving from the Western side of Vermont where we stayed the night last night over to our house in Barton which is in the Northeast section of the state. As we were driving along, we passed the sign which read "entering Jericho". I no sooner said to Mr S "oh wow we're in Jericho. There's a red mill in Jericho that I have been wanting to photograph"................"oh my gosh........there it is"!!!!!!! Who-da-thunk! :-)We turned around and I got out to take a series of photos of the mill and waterfall. If you would like some history about this old mill you can find it here:

On another VERY IMPORTANT note, today is Fathers Day. Because I was traveling, I didn't have a chance to see my Dad today. I called him to wish him a happy Fathers Day. I will post a photo of him in a week or two. I'd like to wish all of the Fathers reading this a very Happy Fathers Day to you!!!!!!
The Specs:
Nikon D90, 18-200 mm lens, ISO 200, 1/250, f8, -1/3 ev

  1. Carol: this is a stunning photo! Love the vibrant red and the waterfall - the picture seems to "cascade" downward with many things for a viewer to enjoy! Glad you got to Jericho. I don't think I've even been there yet!

It's great that you got to stop there and cross it off your list. The list must be VERY long indeed! :) We'll check more off in October for sure!

    Great picture!

I forgot to metnion to you......this old mill is located on Rte 15. We were headed East, and after we pased this mill (several miles after) we also passed Johnson Woolen Mills which I know is one of your favorite places to shop.

  4. hmmmmmm, I'll have to check out the old mill with "you know who" after we stop at the Woolen Mills when I am up there the first weekend in October. I've been back and forth on 15. How could I miss it! Now it's on "my" list! :)

  5. Well, I just did a quick Mapquest and it's about a 30 minute drive south from the Johnson Woolen Mills. I know for a fact that "You know who" knows where it is, because he answered a question once that I had about the old mill. Well, of COURSE he knows where it is.! :-)
